Flying to the Philippines? Soon, You Can Skip Manila
I guess all the delays coupled with traffic issues have asked some questions about the logic of more Manila passenger arrivals.
Interesting reading

I've tried looking for flights into Clark rather than Manila before but the prices are ridiculous, as in 25% more with Qatar

Yes, because I head up to Pangasinan, Clark arrival would have made a lot more sense for me.
However, the extra cost for that flight would be more than the cost of a taxi from Manila up to Dagupan !
So, yes I'm flying Qatar next January, but into Manila as usual.

I'm going to look into Asiana prices to Clark or have a play with various airlines here:-

So, maybe have a stop over in KL, HK or Singapore and jump on a cheap flight into Clark from there

If you want to treat the extra time and stopovers as part of your holiday ... fine, but for me it is just too much mucking about and unjustifiable extra expense .

Cheapest I've found with Asiana is £462 to Clark. Instead of stopover maybe I should have said transit, or just change airlines at your intermediate destination. Might be worth looking for a cheap flight to Singapore or HK and then changing to another carrier to get you to Clark. Even if it's an extra hour 'in transit' it's got to be better than trying to get out of Manila

To be honest Simon, I've never found it that much of a problem getting out of Manila.
I'm careful about what time of day I attempt it of course...and from which part of Manila.
My ticket this time has cost me £502, on a pretty highly rated airline, with 18 hour total journey times, and from my 'local' airport, so not too bad.
Last trip it only cost me £12 return for the train to the airport too...booking online (normally £35 +).

Is this about the rail link between NAIA and Clark?
Well anyway, here's a recent article about it if anyone's interested.
