    Renewal ACR card 13a

    Hallo

Can somebody help me, please. What are the actual requirements for the renewal of an ACR-Card (13a)??

I read in another forum that a German was asked for his wife - and an ID from her - where the address must be the same as the applicant husband.

That's to prove that they are still living together and not separated.

I never heard about that. Also, in the requirements checklist of the Immigration Website, I can't find anything about the wife/spouse having to show an ID.

Anybody renewed his/her ACR Card during the last few months?

    Thanks

    Sean

Hi Sean, welcome aboard Filipino UK

I take it you already looked here :-
RENEWAL OF ALIEN CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION IDENTITY CARD (ACR I-CARD)

I've no personal experience myself I just arrived here to Davao City last November.
Had a brush with the local BI office and haven't returned since.

Others here will be along soon with detailed guidance.

    Why do you anticipate difficulties?

There aren't many reliable forums around. Luckily, you've now found one

I must go to Cebu for the Immigration, it's far......that's why I want to know.

Cannot find any Information on the Internet. Nor at the www. of the Immigration. It's only a German who wrote that on another Forum about the wife and her ID ......

    Thanks for quickly accepting me.

    Hi Seansaa,

You may not need to go to Cebu. I had probationary 13a from Manila, and I thought my amendment would have to be done in Manila, but found out I was able to apply nearer home at a more local office.

What is your renewal of 13a? Is it probationary you have now? If it is, then it's not renewal, it is the amendment from Probationary to Permanent.

You should apply at the Immigration Office 2 months before expiry, or you may incur a fine. It involves at least 3 visits, 1st to hand in your completed application form.

Your passport and photocopied bio and visa pages, and your ACR Card also photocopied.

You must get MBI Clearance - and that can take up to 2 months.

For 2nd visit you should be with your wife and you will BOTH be interviewed together by their Attorney who is also a psychologist.

Smile and be nice, as he has the power to blacklist you.

I'm not 100% certain but, for the interview, you should have your wife with you - as she is your petitioner.

    Please read my thread:

The whole thread relates to my first application right up until now. You will find useful links that can find you a local office and a list of what each office deals with.

I try to remember which visit involved which.

    1st visit, application.

2nd visit, interview - they will text you with interview date.

3rd visit to pay fee. My wife was allowed to do this without me. Again, they send a text to tell you when they are ready for you to pay.

I may have second and third visits in the wrong order.

They will text again when the 13a is ready to pick up - about 2 months after the interview - I'm still waiting!

Looks to me like you can where you live. That will make it easier for your wife to be with you. It is a good benefit to always have your wife with you, because they can be understood better and can negotiate for you.

Depends if yours is an amendment from Probationary to Permanent; if it is, this office doesn't have that on its list. I suggest you consult them and ask advice.

I am, since many many years, a Permanent Resident. The ACR-Card, I have to renew every 5 years. About this renewal, I talked about: Never needed my wife nor any ID from her for that.

    Regards

's what I'd to request be done - on my behalf - on *Monday of this week ... in recognition of the comforting support Stewart had given a Newbie whose fiance had been diagnosed with a serious illness.

And, thankfully, other members have also responded in kind *since then too, for which I'm much obliged!

If couldn't do in Zamboanga - then most probably could be done in Davao City or CDO. But they are just about as distant as taking a flight to Cebu or Manila.

Imagine's post is very helpful for people who must make the amendment.

But for just renewing the Card after 5 years, I never needed my wife or any document of hers. That's my question: If there is a new rule that makes this neccesary? On the Immigration Website I can't find that new rule - but another expat was asked for that in Manila.....

I haven't heard of any new rules regarding the 5 year renewal.
Perhaps, they were suspicious that the German and his wife weren't living together? My wife hasn't been to immigration (thankfully ) with me for 15 years, however i usually photocopy one or two of her ID,s, just in case they ask.

Whats new? Just paid mine and it took 10mins. Same fee of 310 pesos and unlike last year, no extra forms to be filled out or notarized.

Good to hear you have now applied for permanent residence If you get it before the end of February, do the annual report or they will fine you next year
