I think that's always been the case Fred.
As far as I understand that applies to everyone with multiple citizenship when visiting a country they hold a passport for.
Under international law, a State may not give consular assistance to one of its nationals if he or she is in a country whose citizenship that person also holds

Well the way I see it Art,is this..
If the Chinese invaded the R.P (God forbid) and all us Brits were waiting for a free flight out at the expense of the British Government with our little red Brit Passports in hand..I for one would throw my kids and wife`s Filipino passports in the rubbish bin and denied they ever had one!!
I don't think they would have time to check as things might be a bit manic.

I might be able to understand it more clearly if the person was not a natural born British citizen..
Otherwise it is B.S as far as I`m concerned.
As I said though..It makes little difference as the UK gives minimal assistance to any of its citizens abroad regardless..
There should be very plain and truthful warnings to any British citizens travelling abroad widely available.
You are on your own once you fly over Dover!
They should also close British Embassies and call them what they actually are.. Visa payment centers for foreigners..
British Passport= Mickey mouse.

If that's the case, I have to withdraw my son's Filipino Citizenship then. Am I allowed to do that?

Now if you were a Pakistani national who had been shot, and considered a martyr by the mass media clowns...
