    Holiday plan for my parents

    Hey gang,

Myself and Levin are getting married on 15 Jan 2015.

My parents will also attend the wedding, and plan to go on a little holiday for a couple of days after the wedding.

They don't want to clock too much mileage when in the Philippines, so it would be best if their holiday destination would not be too far from Manila ideally.

They are specifically looking for a quiet resort, something that would suit a reserved couple in their 60's would fit the bill...

    Here is their schedule:

    Fly into Manila
    Travel to Solano Nueva Vizcaya
    Attend Ed & Levins wedding
Travel to a holiday resort that is ideally en route back to Manila so as to minimise travel and hassle..

Here's what the route looks like on a map:

Can someone please recommend a nice quiet holiday resort that ideally meets all the requirements outlined above?

Thanks very much for your help,
    Ed

The road from Solano to Manila runs through the centre of Luzon so unless they're interested in staying at a mountain resort, one on the coast would require quite a bit of travelling.
Other options would be south of Manila or the Camaya Coast in Bataan. Nasugbu in Batangas Province is probably the easiest to get to in the south and is around 40 miles from the capital.

Puerto Galera is a nice place to stay if you take Sabang out of the equation but it's a three hour journey including a one hour boat ride.

Other than that, Tagaytay, famous for its volcano and lake and being home to the largest jigsaw puzzle in the world - but it's not on the coast.

Actually, taking a plane to Tagbilaran might be a viable option too. Within two hours of the plane taking off from Manila they could be at Alona Beach, one of the best beaches in the country. Although popular, mid January should be fairly quiet - and there's a wide selection of hotels on Panglao Island that suit all types too. Not to mention numerous places to visit like the iconic Chocolate Hills should they wish to.

    This one closer to Manila..
Pico De Loro Beach Resort & Club

Of course they might want somewhere to escape the heat and humidity so a hotel with a view of the lake might be suitable.. Plenty to choose from.

    This place looks good..

    In Manila itself..
I always fancied staying here for a few days.. Pricey, but who cares?
