I've always enjoyed the Japanese Grand Prix.
Plenty of highs and lows over the years. Always thrills.

Suzuka is one of my favourite tracks on the Xbox car racing sim.
Glad I got up at the crack of dawn to watch it, though knacked now of course.

A very boring track, and those who go off suffer little in the way of a penalty. Terrible design, similar to the also bring Bahrain.

Agree...very processional race, and of course the usual rubbish noise those hybrid things make.
To be fair though, there have been some very entertaining races on other circuits this season.

Yep, great job from Lewis and from the Mercedes Team.
That's 5 wins in a row.

Great race for Lewis. Crap for watching .... another 2 car race. The same as 90% of the season.

With Lewis on 334 points and Rosberg on 317 points mathematical permutations of just how the title can be won or lost come into focus with a double point last race in Abu Dhabi on November 23
Here's how the points get awarded:-
1st = 50
2nd =36
3rd = 30
4th = 24
5th = 20
6th = 16
7th = 12
8th = 8
9th = 4
10th = 2
It's an added nail biting dimension to the 'local' rivalry.
C'mon Lewis

Hamilton should have won, it was a driver error that cost him. I think he will still be champion though.

Lewis Hamilton has shown himself to be best driver this season with the fastest drives in the best car.
If he doesn't win the title solely down to this nutty new double points game then F1 will not only look stupid the fans will be livid.

If they wanted double points in the last race, they should do what Indycar does. Have two races on the same day.

Initially I thought the double points rule mean't 50 points for the winner, then 18 for second and so on. Since I realised that second place gets 36 points I'm not so upset about the rule. Lewis needs to finish the race then win the championship - if he finishes then he's bound to finish in the front four anyway.

Title permutations for the final race:-
Hamilton, 334 points.......................Rosberg, 317 points
How the Briton can win the title.......How the German can win the title:
Finish ahead of Rosberg................ Win the race with Hamilton third or lower
Finish no lower than 2nd if Rosberg wins.....Finish second with Hamilton sixth or lower
Finish fifth or better if Rosberg doesn't win..... Finish third with Hamilton seventh or lower
Finish sixth or better if Rosberg is not in the top two......Finish fourth with Hamilton ninth or lower
Finish eighth or better if Rosberg misses out on the podium...... Finish fifth with Hamilton 10th or lower
Finish ninth or better if Rosberg is fifth........Should Hamilton not score any points, Rosberg still must finish no lower than fifth to overturn the 17-point deficit.
