When I took my mortgage on in the Eighties I could afford it. Nobody could predict the mortgage rates would go up to 16% under Thatcher and a Tory government.. Fortunatley I could afford it but a lot of people couldn't and lost their houses.

How do you explain that Graham?

    I've just renegotiated my mortgage

I for one think the economy is doing well, thanks Mr Cameron and as such foresee the interest rates going up

Now - not wanting to be caught out - not only have I fixed my mortgage payments for the next 5 years but in doing so I've reduced my monthly payment by 25% from the standard variable rate I was on

After all Les has had a bet with tiger over the football and lost
True, but if I had bet him 20 odd times previously, I would have won every one

I'm tempted to take the bet but it's too long away - I don't know who will get in but if the Tories did and we do get a choice the public would vote to come out I believe.

With your lot we're not even going to get a choice - that could cost you lots of votes as it will be played on big time next year

You will be wrong (again ) if you think we will come out of Europe Les. Either Cameron would backtrack on his promise for a referendum or the vote will be fixed so we stay in Europe.

All Cameron is doing is telling you what he wants you to hear. And you, like some on here, have fallen for it. . Cameron wants to stay in Europe, FACT! He will come out with the usual scaremongering. Job losses etc at the time of the referendum.

Totally disagree he will have to give us the vote and we would vote to leave.
Yes he want's to stay in Europe with new conditions but the public won't buy it.
Labour as I say once again will not even consider it and it will cost them at the next election.
politics are changing Andy thanks to UKIP-no party in their right mind (except Labour which is clueless)will ignore the cry to leave Europe.

I won't take you up on your offer Andy. My bet is on the Cons to win the next election 5/2 William Hill. Cameron will stick to his promise and give us the referendum unlike Blair & Brown

Looks like Milliberk's Union Baron paymasters are ramping up the pressure for a referendum :-

Miliband campaigned for Britain to leave Europe in his teens but now refuses to give referendum demanded by his union backers

    • Miliband delivered leaflets for Michael Foot in 1983, the Commons is told
    • Labour's manifesto said Britain should withdraw from European Community
    • David Cameron says people should not be judged by their teenage choices
    • But PM insists the British people should have a say on leaving the EU
    • Unite union warns Labour risks being 'boxed in' by Tories and UKIP
    • Cameron says life listening to Ed Balls must be a 'miserable existence' Classic

The drip is making an even bigger fool of himself by grabbing at evermore desperate vote-buying straws.

Now he's also going to give local councils more money and power. Yeah right.
