Greetings!
I'm Vohn, and I'm a nurse from the Philippines. I recently had a job offer to work in London as a nurse. I'm currently having my NMC registration and VISA processed as well. I hope to seek guidance on living in the UK, work, and probably the culture too. The best references I got from UK are from BBCs Sherlock and Doctor Who with a few remarkable picture of the UK life from Guy Ritchie's films.
I hope to hear from you guys, and learn a lot from this forum.

Thanks. It's a Tier 2 visa and agency's handling the processing. So currently, I'm still here. Waiting.

Hmmm, that's why I asked.
The way you worded your post made me feel nervous about this.
I hope you have not paid any money to anyone for this. It's up to you yourself to personally apply for the visa.
Do you have a job offer directly from a UKVI certified and licensed sponsor ?
If so, you should already have their certificate of sponsorship reference number. Do you have this?
I'm not wanting to alarm you, just trying to be sure your not getting scammed.
Which UKVI approved English language Test did you take? and what grades ?
Don't send any money to anyone
I hope I'm mistaken
What research did you do on the UKVI website for Tier 2 visa ?

Kind of you to worry.
But I did a background check of the agency,it's affiliates, the hospital, and even people they've sent there before. Story checks out.
I have satisfied the IELTS requirement by the NMC and even the work experience. Currently having my NMC registration processed and for the agency's part, they'll handle the visa part. I won't be paying them a dime for the visa registration or for basically anything while I'm here. I got interviewed for a position by an NHS hospital in london and luckily, got an offer. So basically, I'm playing the waiting game for the processing of the documents and recon about life in the UK.
So unless I'm really really unlucky, this stint is legit.

Understood....well done and enjoy your new life in London
I'm aware that quite a few London Hospitals have visited Philippines specifically for recruitment just to secure good quality people.
Good Luck Vohn.
Sorry if I set bells ringing unecessarily.......there are so many scams these days.
Many folks trying to grab your cash

No no, you're just being kind. I don't even believe most of the ads and offers offered in agencies. I doubt everything I see, especially when it's from the internet.
Sadly though, there's a lot of scams going around here in the ph. Feed that to jobless nurses and you'll get a sob story for ofws.

Vohn
Sorry we are from outside London - my wife's a Pinay NHS nurse and I'm glad to hear they're hiring from the PI again. I mentioned PRUH because I'd read Joe's thread recently
(http://filipinaroses.com/showthread....highlight=pruh)
Stick around on the forum I'm sure you'll find it of help. If you're here before 19 July you'll be able to go to the Barrio Fiesta

Vohn ... I'm so pleased to learn you've undertaken independent checks on the sources involved and found the job offer legitimate. with my good friend & co-Moderator's initial concerns, however:
Sadly, there are many, many unscrupulous agencies out to make "a fast buck" through bogus job offers these days. Which is why we do our utmost to protect potential Overseas Foreign Workers from such despicable scams.
May I conclude by wishing you every success in your forthcoming appointment.
