A rare "well done" for Network Rail

The main railway line through Dawlish in Devon has reopened after part of the track was destroyed during winter storms.

    Yes I agree.

It shows what can still be done in this country when people just get on with it .

I see that idiot Cameron, and the local MP are trying to get credit for it. Bloody bum holes .... go back to smoggy London, and stop polluting the countryside with your hot air.

True....and even better if we weren't smothered by EU interference and nonsense regulations.

Once upon a time everything running on those lines was manufactured in the UK by British-owned companies...not to mention the actual rails.

And the fact that this country invented steam locos and was the first to have public railways

    Exactly.

And now there are those doubting whether we're capable of standing on our own feet outside the EU losers' club.

Quite right although the Great in Britain is being rapidly diluted by the alien trash, chancers and criminals the deluded fools are happy to have living amongst us

Yep....great work getting the back in business.
It's a lovely line and I've been lucky enough to have travelled along it many times.

    Unique. Long may it last

Sorry but they should have built a stronger sea wall/protection BEFORE the storms.

It had been there since Brunel built it and no doubt the army of risk assesors, equality officers, 'elf & safety commisars etc employed by Network Rail & the HSE had given it the all clear to withstand recorded conditions plus a safety margin. They should be sacked
