Filipino-British-Filipino
Yeah... Ive just got my Filipino citizenship.. after spending about £10k and 3years becoming British it only took £36 (plus £100 for travel and Mc Donalds) and a day to become Filipino again, Aaaaaamazing!! just goes to show how much we have got things sorted in our home office compared with some other countries I could mention.. but don't worry friends I will not be abandoning you as I am now dual citizen I can go anywhere anytime for as long as I want
he he I'm so lucky that's better than just being British because I will always be Pinoy at heart.''Don't be serious..Be Sincere''

Thank you Peter, the feeling is fantastic !!
It was just 12days since i got my sparkly British passport and my daughter got hers in just a couple of days using the check and send application in the post office...my husband said that the ink on my British Passport was still drying when I changed back to Filipino.
The consul in the Philippine embassy was pleasantly informative and explained the history of dual citizenship, he asked our group why we want to go back as Filipino , is it because we want to own a land and property or we have inherited a land or we want to retire in the PH , none of the above I answered ''just want to be a Filipino again as is my birth right'' !! lol''Don't be serious..Be Sincere''

As my wife has recently received her British passport does this mean her Philippine passport is no longer valid?

Technically, when she took her Oath for Naturalisation she lost her Philippine Nationality.
Doesn't mean she can't still use her passport to enter Philippines, (as nobody yet knows) but legally she has lost her citizenship.
The good news is that it's easy and cheap to re-acquire..... just as Mari has done.
Well unless you decide to take the wife around London for shopping

Are there any advantages or disadvantages of entering the Philippines on a British passport?

Well entering the Philippines on a British passport just means complying with visa regulations. Visa free stay of 30 days with applications for extension is needed.
Actually my wife still doesn't have a Philippine Passport but instead she uses her British Passport and Certificate of Philippine Citizenship to secure entry. I still then qualify for a BB stamp for 1 year visa free stay.

You might want to research the disadvantages for her of not retaining her Philippine citizenship though.......just in case it has impacts for her.

What is the point of renewing her Philippine Passport when she is British and hold a British passport?? The visa in her Phil. passport would have expired so is technically invalid when she became British. and can not apply for a new one as she is no longer Filipino .

here are some of the privileges of going back to the PH as a dual citizen
http://dahongpilipino.ca/dahong-comm...s-and-no-cons/
1) the right to be issued a Philippine passport;
2) the right to live and stay in the Philippines, visa-free, and for an indefinite period of time;
3) the right to practice one’s profession;
4) the right to engage in business, including investment in areas or industries reserved wholly or partly to Filipino citizens or Philippine companies;
5) the right to register and vote in Philippine elections;
6) the right to own real property beyond the legal limits prescribed for former citizens; and
7) the right to be appointed or elected to public, under certain conditions.
the only disadvantage i can think is that you cannot run or work in a public office.''Don't be serious..Be Sincere''

Personally I'll not advise anything that contravenes Philippine law on our forum.
Taking the oath of allegiance in favour of UK means she relinquished her Philippine citizenship.
In order to renew her existing Philippine passport she'd need to declare an untrue circumstance.
