    Bringing son to UK

    Ho good evening,

Is it possible to bring my 6 yrs old son here in uk? I Am married but separated for two years now and I have been here in the UK for nearly three years. I understand i need to have permission from the father but does a letter from him will do? Or do I need to undergo legal custody?

    Thank you

Are you married to a British citizen, or a Filipino ?

What is your current immigration status here ?

Welcome to the forum by the way. I'm sure you'll find the answers here.

    Ok.

Probably the first thing to do is to have a look on the UKBA (UK Border Agency...ie...Immigration) website to see whether you are likely to meet the requirements. Are you a 'Tier 2' Immigrant ?

Here's the web page. Have a look around it, then of course you can ask for further advice here.

By the way my son stays at my parents and his father only sees him few hours every sunday. I am sending him remittances monthly for his tuition fee, food and allowance.

I hope someone can help as I really want my son to be with me here.

    Thanks in advance

Hi Anne, welcome to the forum

I can fully understand you wanting your little boy with you ..he needs his mommy now with his schooling under way.

I was parted 84 days from my babies which seemed an eternity.

    Good Luck Anne

    thank you

I have been apart with my son for nearly three years now although we have constant communication. I'm not sure if that will jeopardise my future visa application for him though. i need to know more about "sole responsibility" and what proof do I need to have to satisfy the UKBA.

Please shed some light about this.

    thank you.

I don't know how the very few of you mothers can do this...I know I couldn't or for that matter, wouldn't . The visa would be the last thing on my mind...Still I wish you well Anne

There others on here who can shed more light..Perhaps they are Christmas shopping

    Keep checking Anne

    Hi Anne

I wasn't knocking you Far from it. You OFWs are the saviours of the Philippines. I know how much you guys are valued over there and the unenviable sacrifices you had to make to be here.

I just hope you and you child will be reunited real soon.
