A flat i rented in my misspent youth, part of a large victorian dilapidated detached house, had a rowing boat in the cellars so the electricity board could get to read the electric meters. A fact that was featured at the time in the local paper. Didnt add anything to the rents though.....they pulled it down in the end!

My old place, before the divorce (she's still there ) had a flat roof above the bedroom, and there was quite a deep pool of water on it.
No joke - we would sometimes get ducks landing on it and splash in it. It certainly felt strange to be lying in bed under a duckpond.

Then one evening, it sprang a leak.............thankfully a very slow one. All fixed now.

Don't get a house with a flat roof if you can avoid.
