I saw it in 1992 when it was described as the worlds most perfectly symetrical composite cone,it erupted the following year and one side of the cone collapsed if I remember correctlyIt was/is certainly worth going to see if your in the general area
Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Taal's a nice day out Keith, we went there in Jan A word of warning, the sea/lake crossing by boat is very choppy - YOU WILL GET WET I was completely soaked. It's a fairly tough 4 or 5 KM uphill walk too, but well worth it when you get to the top. You can get a donkey ride up there, but I would rather walk it.
(if you look at my FB albums of Phil's Jan 2011 there are lots of photo's of our trip there)

Ive seen Taal many times from high up in Tagaytay but never really fancied the trek over there..
The U.S have just advised their citizens to stay clear as the volcanoes activity has changed in the last 2 months..
Pretty sure the R.P Gov scientists have shut down the place to tourists until further notice..

I won't be going to the cone.... the majority of people don't realise that the whole lake is the crater of a previous massive blast, and the lumps in the middle are fresh cones, more are actually underneath the water, and it is still very active. It is similar to Mono Lake in California I've visited a few times.

I was living in Angeles when Pinatubo blew its top.
An experience I would not care to repeat.
Our roof came in, and later all our stuff was looted.
A foot of ash covering 100's of square miles, which then (because of heavy rain) turned to a sort of liquid concrete that tin roofs were not built to support.
It also blocked all the rivers and filled all the drains up.
Moving down the rivers it demolished most of the bridges...and anything else in its way.
