    Need advise please.

    I simple don't know were to start so I thought I would ask here first,

    Me and my girl friend are planning to get married, she is in the uk on a student visa, and it will run out this December,

    But we don't know how to proceed, do we need to get promission first because of the visa before we get married here,

    I don't know if it makes a difference but I hold a Portuguese passport and have indef stay.

    Any help would be very great full !

    what are you doing in the uk ricardo ? working, student etc ??

    what country is your g/f from ?


    but, i think she needs to apply for a COA before you can marry, thou the requirement of a COA should be abolished soon

    My mum and dad came over when I was a baby so I've been in the uk since I was 2 and I am now 27 and I'm working for the nhs,
    My g/f is Filipina.

    then i think at the mo she needs a COA to enable her to marry then just apply for a family permit/ residence card for her once your married

    Yes, Ricardo ... as Joe Bloggs states, a 'Certificate of Approval' - obtainable from the Home Office - will be your first step.
