Star Ferry ( if it's still going) better than any high price cruise, and the same route!

There's something for everyone there...bargains and designer stuff. Street markets and malls...and has anyone mentioned the FOOD !
I put some more of my old pics here...non-tourist views.

I think you are probably right, it would have been carnage! They would have had to send a boat to the mainland to stock up every couple of days!!
The firework display is much better than London! Though I heard London put on a great show last New Year but missed it.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

lived there for 5 years, met my mahal there and miss everything except the air pollution. Hope you get some bright clear days and nights, the views at night over the Harbour to Kowloon from the Peak road is amazing, take teh bus journey to stanley(6A I think but check because some got through the tunnel) great views and passes above Happy Valley racecourse, deepwater bay, Repulse bay and is generally a beautiful trip sit upstairs right hand seats for best views). Visit Lantau if you can (ferry to Mui Wo and take the bus to the Po Lin Monastery) fabulous journey and the big buddha is good day out. Silvermine bay is a nice but man made beach. The weather will be just warm enough for beach if you are lucky but more fun going visiting sea food restuarants in Cheung Chau(another ferry from Central piers) and also Star Ferry goes from there now. So much to do and so little time. you will have a great belated homeymoon. Have fun, any questions just ask
