Was it in North Wales?
You probably know that it has the reputation of being the worst place in the UK for getting done
I only have 3 points on my licence and it was just outside Wrexham.
They have those radar guns and you have got no chance to hide from them as you come around the corner at 35 in a 30 zone.
I know I know I was a bit naughty but it was going down a hill
I drive HGV's for a living and North Wales makes me more nervous than anywhere else in the UK.
This is echoed by many other drivers I speak to too
Having said all that, you probably got stopped on the Wirral

Surprised the N Wales police weren't booking folk for driving slow in the blizzards and holding up the traffic

Haha, in autumn 2007, I was just approaching the junction for Denbigh, and overtaking on a downhill stretch, when my laser jam ... err... 'garage door opener' deafened me!
There was a police man waving an instrument out of his car window, parked up just by the junction.
That wonderful device protected me on more than one occasion - a rather essential accessory on a car with top speed in excess of 170mph!

North Wales has been dubbed the "Spiritual home of the traffic Taliban".....
I was stopped about 150 feet away from Wrexham railway station.
As per speeding, I don't do that anymore, I use a "Talex" thingy that keeps reminding me of the local speed limit and of any fixed or mobile camera spots.
I would rather "zap" them, tho, with the same thing that Peterb had.
Only that I missed out on getting one in Elevenerife, when I went last time.
